Danielle and Brian, parents of Vivianne (also known as Chief Product Tester) are the proud creators of the Kozy Couch.
Their story began simply enough - they were looking into a play couch for Vivianne and saw a need. From talking with other parents, they heard that not everyone has the room – or the budget – for a six-piece play couch.
So they set out to design the Kozy as a single unit of three pieces – two base cushions and a flat wedge back. The best part of the process was Vivianne “testing” the samples. She absolutely loved playing on them.
They worked with multiple factories all over the world (including the US) and had endless designs. Their top priority was to ensure the Kozy was safe for kids. They use CertiPUR-US foam which is independently tested and verified to ensure there are no harmful chemicals. They also perform their own third-party lab testing to meet their quality standards.
Danielle and Brian sweated the details on design features, too. They wanted a thicker base cushion for extra padding (2 inches thicker than standard) and worked with suppliers to find the best alternative fabric to the commonly used microsuede. The result? A softer, more durable and much more comfortable Kozy Couch great for sitting, tumbling, building, and simple to store.
An exciting new chapter began for the brand in March 2022: Kozy Couch was acquired by OpenStore and will continue to carry forward the values of Danielle, Brian (and Vivianne!) for many years to come.
